ME LATELY ||| NOT THE USUAL PHIYAH

this Outfit was inspired by cassieDaves - a blogger I admire so much
Outfit: print shirt X plain red skirt on a flat shoe

Lately, life has been throwing different shades at me, the worst part is I can't even explain it, I've been really depressed and  tired, yesterday I couldn't continue, I broke down and almost gave up but then I thought about the reason I started, I'm not the type easily give up, I told myself I'm the best and I can't stop now, I'm not what they say I am, I'm going to work for my own name.

I thought about you guys and couldn't get myself to agree to closing down this blog so here I am again punching my keyboard, I know it's been a while and I'm sorry I did leave but I'm back now.

HOPE YOU GUYS ARE FINE?
Amidst all these things I found a way to be happy, so here is what I've been up to lately

1. CREATING FRIENDSHIP: I didn't have much friends before I came to the hostel but now, I think it's completely the opposite, I don't just have ordinary friends, I've friends that are worth having, friend that have supported me so far in little ways the can and I appreciate that.

shout out to good friends:

This is Rachel - a food and lifestyle blogger, she just started but trust me she's good, she's also an amazing friend, please do check her blog here

This is Dawnslyn - she's not just beautiful, she's everything in one person, I'll simply say she's a perfect friend.
Meet Swizzy - I don't know how she did it but I gat mad love for her, she's an amazing person too, she has definitely been of great help to me and i can't help but appreciate her.

Vera is a perfect friend, she has been supporting and advising me in everything, she's always keeping in touch and encouraging me no matter how far we are. Thank you Vera.

They are not just four - I'll take all your time if I want to introduce you to all my new found love ones so let's skip for now.

2. THRIFTING: I use to be ashamed of thrifting but reading a lot on it, I've come to realize that there's nothing to be ashamed of, Thrifting is now my thing and i can't get enough - especially when I'm with Dawnslyn.

See some clothes I got from thrifting and how good I looked on them

LIFE ||| 5 SWIFT STEPS TO BECOME THE LADY YOU DESIRE

I've seen ladies who don't like to live the way they do, they desire a life very different from theirs or should I say the want to be like this person or that person - I can totally relate to this — use to be my life and I sure know it can be frustrating when you keep trying and fail, not to worry I've put up the right steps for you. These steps will teach you how to be grow into your desired  'YOU' person.

1. Who do you want to be like and why? — your first step is knowing your desired woman and why you want to fit into her shoes, as you meditate you can write it down. Get a concrete reason for wanting to be like her.

2. How different are you from your desired woman? —  continue by discovering the difference between you two, you can also write this down.

3. Are you ready to adjust? — your desired woman made some sacrifices to be desired today, are you willing to change and make those sacrifices?

4. Get to work — time to work hard, time to break those old habit, time to make sacrifices.

5. Don't go hard on yourself: understand that changing into a new person and breaking old habits are difficult tasks and you can't do that overnight, but you definitely can do it — if I could then you can, so don't give up on yourself, make mistakes and learn from it.

I hope this few steps help you in your journey of becoming the woman you've always dreamt to be, don't forget to drop more steps if you know on the comment box.

BLOGGING ||| 3 EASY TIPS TO GET YOU A REAL BLOG POST INSTEAD OF A CASUAL POST

Yesterday's outfit styling white camisole on high waist denim pant, a sandal and a check shirt - casual outfit.
Here, I talked about my love for check shirts and how they make me look interesting on casuals.

To me a casual post is a post you make in your head but never get to post them on your blog simply because you forgot them, you don't have enough information about it or you just don't feel it - I lived in this land for a long time until I became tired and had to find my way out.
These are 3 tips to help you travel far from the habit of not sharing your thoughts.

1. Write them: your good thoughts/ideas should be shared with the whole world so as a blogger never go out without your writing materials - personally I hate using the pen and paper but I've a NOTE in my phone where I write every blog post idea. Most times I write my idea in pieces and patch them up later to make a post so don't say they come in pieces, remember you can make a million by saving 10naira each day.

2. Research: don't write this ideas and go to bed, know that no matter how weird or different the topic may be, someone has written on it  so do research, it'll help you patch the pieces and give you more information about the post.

3. Stay motivated: regularly visit other blogs - with same niche as yours this will help you stay motivated and connected with people of the blogosphere.
Have you ever made a good casual post without posting it? If this was you before how did you break free? Is there any tips you know and used that isn't here? Please share with us via the comment box.

LIFE ||| FAKE THINGS FALL OFF

Like I said in this post I've no insecurity, ofcos I know my nails are big but I'm proud I've got them.

i fixed my nails two Saturdays ago and that they are falling off, just nails ooo then let's talk about fake attitude, love, friends, etc. anything fake falls off sooner than expected.

This is dedicated to everyone who have ever thought of going fake for love, likes, respect or anything.

I took my phone, login to my Facebook handle and went straight to blessing's profile, the girl I was madly in love with - no homo, I just admired everything about her, to me she was living the life and I wanted to be like her by all means, whenever I go to her profile I always felt inferior, she had the likes(what almost everyone on Facebook really want), the friends, the love from her friends, her make-up was always on fleek, her clothes were the latest, everything about her I loved. I spent more time on blessing profile than books or anything, so you can imagine I spent most times feeling inferior, bad and asking God why I came from a poor family.
Mama, who is a civil servant and caterer has been the only one training I and my four siblings ever since papa died 12years ago although most times I get help from my uncle(papa elder brother) and my aunt(mama elder sister).
I started using the little pocket money I get to buy clothes and shoes just to look like blessing truth is I was in a secret competition with my crush but each time I upload a picture I don't even look like her neither do I get the likes or the friends, I still felt she was winning... Ahn! ahn! But wait o, where she dey get all these money from? She's not working neither is she a student and boom! it dawned on me! She's either a sex worker or she's dating a rich nigga. So to be like her I would do either of the two, No, sex worker is not an option, mama is a deaconess in the Apostolic church(TAC), I can't imagine what will happen to mama if the church finally get to know.
Dating a rich nigga, yes, my final solution but I don't wanna be control by a man simply because he's giving me stipends and I'll have to be giving him sex in exchange for money and clothes - is what niggas do this days, if you can't satisfy them on bed then they don't see the need of spending on you, having sex now? No, I want to have sex with my husband alone! I want to give him my virginity, I want him to be the first to dig in, I want him to be the first I'd go intimate with - I recall when mama took me she wanted a gift from my future husband.....You know that old tradition that if you marry a virgin you take gift to her parents for training her well? Mama held unto it.
After all the thinking I made one decision which I'm glad I did, I told myself I'm different from that person and I can never be that person.
I am me
I am amazing
I am wonderfully made and won't change for anyone or anything.

Be you no matter what, tell the world it has to adjust to the real you cause fake things fall off sooner just like my nails.

Do have a blessed day.

PERSONAL ||| 5 STRIKING FEATURES DISTINGUISHING ME FROM OTHERS

My favorite color - Yellow top x denim pant

No matter how related we are, we are not the same they must features that separate us from everyone.

1. My beauty: I'm beautiful and I know it, ofcourse everyone is beautiful but mine is exceptional and unique, I mean you don't get bored or tired staring at me *one eye swiftly close* either natural or on makeup I'm still beautiful and it's one of those things that makes me different from others.

2. Ability of accept the worst
I believe life isn't all rainbows and cupcakes but it isn't all rain and darkness either, in as much as we have a good days, we also have the bad day so I've braced myself for those bad things that I don't get shocked when the happen. I just close my eyes, pray to God and then do my own part which is to be positive.

3. Ability to enjoy my own company
So many people find this very difficult but trust me I can't trade my 'me time' for anything in the world, like I love my own company it gives me more time to relax, think, set goals and make blog posts. This doesn't mean I don't hang out or meet friends, I do but I give my self a break from people and concentrate on me.

4. Ability to embrace my imperfections and love myself
I know I'm not perfect but my imperfections make ME. Embrace your imperfections and love yourself you'd realize that life is easy. So far I do not have any insecurity about my body.

5. Ability to read a person's mind
This is inbuild and wasn't learnt, I know what you're thinking but it's not the magical mind reading, oh no! I don't have super power. This is more like understanding and predicting a person based on their body languages + I'm very good at it, don't try me.

How well do you know me, can you tell other unique features I have? What are those features you posses that differs you from every normal person out there? Share with us via the comment box.

PERSONAL ||| SEMESTER SLOGAN X GOAL

My love for crop tops will never die, is not like i've flat tummy o but i just love crop tops and the way it makes me look stylish. if you wanna look more interesting on casual then put on ankara(especially crop top) on denim pant.
I've never had a semester goal or a slogan, this is my first probably because it's my final year and i don't wanna risk it, although I'm not a bookworm, I'm not a failure either - unless i think I am.
I've not really excelled academically as I've always wanted to but this semester will be very different with not just saying but also doing the needful to achieve this one goal and since I'm not dealing with only my books but also this blog, I've created a timetable so neither my blog nor books will suffer from lack of attention.
first the goal then secondly the slogan.
I've a very simple goal which is to have all distinction this semester - I believe it is easy if i follow these few easy(they can be hard when you practice procrastination) steps:

* Attend all lectures.
* Listen attentively in class although it's hard.
* Read my note immediately after the class.
* Do more research on the topic I am reading.
* Revise the previous not anytime I am reading the next.

Here is my slogan: PSSP

P= Pray: I love God and I believe I can do nothing without him.
S= Study: faith without work is death so I'd combine both
S= Slay: in as much as I want to focus on my studies I want to also focus on my looks too
P= Pass: i sure will pass after doing the above.

what else do you think I can do to help me with my studies this semester? and what are your goals for the remaining part of the year? share your thoughts with us via the comment box below.

INSPIRATIONAL ||| LIKE YOU

When I first listen to this song I fell in love with it and felt it was for me, i listen to it when I'm sad, happy, sick, tired and anytime. it one of the songs that work for me so i think i should share it too.
here is the lyrics and i hope you love it like I do.

you can also replace the you with I and me where necessary like I did in the lyrics.

I got to get up
I got to get up and make a move
'Cause the world will never see me until I do
No, they don't really care what I'm going through
So I've got to show them, baby
I got to show them the real me
I got to give them what I've got
No, I won't let them see what I'm not

'Cause I am strong, I am wise
I am worth beyond the thousand reasons why
And I can't be perfect, baby
'Cause nobody's perfect, darling
But, no, no, no, there's nobody in the world like me

What do I do when I can't let go?
What do I say when I just don't know how I feel?
And I know nobody knows how I feel
'Cause everybody's got their own damn problem
So everybody's trying to find their way
And day by day is the struggle
In this world I know I have to hustle
I'll know that I'm not alone
I don't always have to be strong all by myself
I said, it's okay to ask for help

Now listen, people will find me, but they don't define me
And I will find people who'll help redesign me
People will find me, but they don't define me
And I will find people who'll help redesign me
I am a work of art
I know I didn't think I'd come this far
Now here I am

Baby, I am strong, I am wise
I am worth beyond the thousand reasons why
And I can't be perfect, baby
'Cause nobody's perfect darling
But, no, no, no, there's nobody in the world like me

I know I am worth it, 'cause I know that I can't be perfect, baby
'Cause nobody's perfect, darling
I love me just the way that I am
I love me just the way that I am, my love
It's like the stars in the sky, oh, when you look in my eyes

Song by Tatiana Manaois.

BOOKS ||| WHAT I LEARNT FROM 'I WISH I KNEW THIS BEFORE I WAS 14'

Look who is done with a book already... You know that feeling you get when you do a thing you always thought you can't? Yaaaaaaa, that's the feeling.

normally I'm not a book person I prefer movies but I started reading books recently and I'm glad i started.
I wish I knew this before I was fourteen is a book recommended for everyone especially the youths, here are few things I learnt.
* different between love and infatuation/crush - love grows slowly, infatuaction is something that posses you for a short period of time and off, it goes!

INSPIRATIONAL ||| YOUR KIND OF THING

This is a very old photo of me, it's old but gold.

Have you ever tried to copy a person’s habit and things end up going really bad for you? I stopped envying people when I discovered that we are different people and what work for Mr A might not work for Mr B, just like the guy who borrowed money to play 9jabet, because a girl won 16mil, you know what happened to him? He lost all the money *chai* I can’t imagine being in his shoes rn!

I stood at the ATM to withdraw, the queue? Very long but I waited patiently and it got to my turn, what I’m I saying? Life na turn by turn, no rush, take am jeje your turn go reach, instead of trying to micmic someone or trying to be like someone else to get to the top, be yourself you’ll surely get there.
PS: there’s no top, we are just going higher and higher, if there was, then I think dangote would have said, “let me stop here I’m at the top already, I’ve made so much money for my generations” but no, he’s still working.
When I opened my first Blog I was trying to be like Linda Ikeji but then what worked for her didn’t work for me, I’m a different person and would love to inspire people instead of spreading gossip~ofcos it's not a bad thing.

To be better, you have to accept that you’re different, unique and special, get to know yourself better and know the things that work for you, you may not be the type that understands faster when taught but trust me you’re not dull, all you need is a little more practice and you’re perfect. I’ve a friend who doesn’t read at all but at the end of the semester he get straight As, it’s not magic, it because he understands himself and he’s always in class listening attentively to the lecturer but for me even if I’m in class, I’ve to revise and revise that’s why I decided to start reading early this semester (final year no be joke).

From today, dearies stop trying to fit into people’s shoe because you think they have a perfect life, you are special, amazing and most of all beautiful so do your kinda thing.

hope your day was fulfilling like mine?

PERSONAL ||| FOUR PRESSING NEEDS OF A NEWBIE BLOGGER

This is one of my favorite photos taken on one of those good days-I'm not saying these days are bad sha.

being a blogger is expensive and as a newbie blogger, I've made a list of few things I'll be needing.
1. A domain name: domain name is one thing that makes a blog look serious and outstanding. If you don't have one every blogger out there gives you this 'you are not serious' look. Although I planning on buying one soon, I pray it's sooner than soon.

2. A wardrobe change: for my style to be new and different from normal, I need money to change my wardrobe, I really hope I'm able to do this quick since school is in session and all.

3. Time: the first day I ever heard time is money I laughed so hard that tears began to roll from my eyes, I was laughing and wondering how on earth could time be money? Whoever made this statement must be out of his or her senses but as I grew up, I realized that there's no difference between time and money, they are twins of this same parents and just like the movie IN TIME - you should see it, we get paid for the time we spent wisely. But as a student blogger, this is what I lack most.

4. good camera: bloggers and photographers, best combination ever, I know you would love it if I keep sharing beautiful images of the world in this blog, I know what images can do to people's mind So I need a good camera with knowledge of how to use it or better, I could just attend a phonography class - to learn how to use my phone for pictures and editing.

can you help me out here? what else do you think I'll need to make this blog a FAB one for us? share with me via comment box.
